the resources on this website, it is important to ensure that urgent
student needs are addressed quickly through referral to the appropriate
university section.
Step 1 - Assess student risk
Is the student at risk of harming themselves
or others? - discuss situation with the Manager of Student Services on x. 2697
Are you concerned that student may have a significant mental health
issue - discuss situation with a member of the Counselling
Service
Is the student at high risk of dropping out or
failing? - discuss situation with a member of the Transition Team - phone x. 2697
If not go to Step 2...

If you can meet the student's needs directly
by using the information in this resource please do so.
If you are unsure as to the best way to meet
the student's needs please seek assistance from one of the university

If the student's needs can only be met by another
service ensure that the student knows which service they should
contact
If you are particularly concerned about a student's
welfare ring the service directly, explain your concerns and make
a referral to ensure follow up
